ABOUT THE MUD ROOM
The Mud Room first opened in 1996 in Ada, and was one of the first paint-your-own pottery studios in Michigan! In 2016 the studio moved to the centrally-located Knapp’s Corner shopping area of Grand Rapids.
The studio offers adults and kids of all ages a fun and relaxed space to be creative! And it’s no longer just a pottery painting studio. As the studio has grown, new creative offerings have been added and include DIY wood signs, potter’s wheel classes, glass fusing, and other events. No experience is needed and our helpful staff will make anyone feel like an artist.

Hello! I’m Kris (center). My husband and I purchased the studio from Rachel in June of 2024. You may recognize me from the studio as I managed it for two years before the transition. I’m sure most of you know the previous owner Rachel (left), and we are thrilled to continue her tradition of creativity and support in the community! We look forward to seeing you in the studio!
